Healthy Meal Prep Shipped Across Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia
Eating well is simple when there is a good meal prep kitchen in your town. It gets a lot harder when there is not. Plenty of people across Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia end up choosing between cooking everything from scratch after a long day and settling for whatever is quickest on the way home. Neither of those holds up for more than a couple of weeks, and most people know it while they are doing it.
China's Creations ships beyond Huntsville for exactly that reason. The same scratch-made, macro-balanced meal plans that go out to local kitchens every Sunday also travel across three states. Here is how the shipping side works, what turns up in the box, and how to pick the plan that fits your week.
1. Where We Ship and What the Minimum Is
We ship anywhere in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia.
Shipped orders carry an eight meal minimum, so the smallest plan that travels is the 8 meal plan. From there you can step up to 10 or 15 depending on how much of the week you want covered and how many people you are feeding.
The minimum is there for a practical reason. Shipping fresh food properly costs the same whether the box holds three meals or thirteen, so a small order ends up carrying a shipping cost that makes no sense next to the food inside it. Eight is the point where it starts being worth doing.
2. How the Weekly Schedule Runs
A new menu goes up every Friday, and orders for the following week close at 11:00 AM on Friday.
That rhythm matters more than it sounds. It means the food is cooked against real orders rather than sitting in a freezer waiting for somebody to buy it, which is the whole reason the meals arrive fresh instead of frozen solid. It also means the menu keeps moving, so you are not staring at the same six dishes in month three.
The one thing worth putting in your phone is that Friday cutoff. Miss it and you are waiting for the next week's run. The full timeline is laid out on our How It Works page, and anything else you are wondering about is probably answered in the FAQs.
3. What Is Actually in the Box
Every meal is made from scratch with whole ingredients. No preservatives, and nothing frozen.
The meals are built to be macro-balanced and high in protein, and many of them land around 500 calories. You are not getting a sad diet tray that leaves you raiding the cupboard at nine o'clock, and you are not getting a heavy restaurant portion that wipes out your afternoon either. You are getting a plate that has been put together by somebody who thinks about what the food does once you have eaten it.
That thinking comes from the kitchen's background. There is a Master's in Nutrition from Huntington College of Health Sciences behind the menu, along with Precision Nutrition, ISSA and ServSafe credentials. You can read more about that on our About page, and we go deeper into how the flavours get built in this post on the flavours behind the menu.
4. Choosing Your Portion Size
There are two portion options and the one you pick changes the whole plan.
The standard portion gives you 5 oz each of protein, carbs and vegetables. The low-calorie portion scales that down for anyone eating in a deficit. Same food, same menu, different amount on the plate, so nobody in the house has to eat differently from everyone else just because their goals are different.
If you are training and trying to hold protein high, the standard portion is usually the one. We wrote more about how the meals fit around training in this post on active lifestyles. If you are feeding a household rather than just yourself, this one on families covers that side.
5. Mix and Match Instead of a Fixed Box
Every plan is mix and match, which means you build it from the dishes you actually want off that week's menu rather than accepting whatever a company decided to send you.
Plans run from 5, 6 and 7 meals for local delivery, and from 8 upward for shipping. You can add sides to any order, and if you would rather the same plan turned up without you having to think about it each week, there is Subscribe and Save.
Final Thoughts
Living outside Huntsville should not mean giving up on eating well through the week. Shipping exists so the food goes where the people are, rather than the other way around.
If you are closer to home, local delivery covers Huntsville, Madison, Athens, Decatur, Harvest, Meridianville, Hazel Green, New Market, Owens Cross Roads, New Hope, Triana and Toney every Sunday between 2 and 5 PM. And if you have an event rather than a week to plan for, we also do buffet-style catering across Huntsville and Madison.
Have a look at this week's menu, get in touch if you have a question before you order, or pick up a gift card if you are sending this to somebody else.
